This collaboration aims to integrate UpFront’s LVOne test into NordicDx’s iaX platform, combining two innovative technologies to improve clinical decision-making in time-critical stroke care.
A First in Stroke Detection with Finger-Prick Blood
NordicDx’s iaX is a portable, universal lateral flow reader that delivers results in seconds and securely stores data through its connected platform. It is the only Class I medical device globally approved for in vitro diagnostics in decentralised settings.
By integrating LVOne, the iaX platform will, for the first time:
- Include GFAP, a key biomarker for stroke, in a finger-prick blood test
- Offer the first lateral flow test for stroke detection on the platform
- Expand its biomarker menu into neurovascular diagnostics
This integration is a game-changer in stroke diagnostics, combining speed, accuracy and accessibility.
Real-World Testing in Pre-Hospital Care
The combined LVOne + iaX solution will be evaluated through clinical trials in pre-hospital environments, where speed is critical and diagnostic tools are scarce.
This will help:
- Improve early stroke triage
- Identify large vessel occlusion (LVO) more accurately
- Enable faster access to life-saving thrombectomy
